Title Escherichia coli xthA mutants are sensitive to inactivation by broad-spectrum near-UV (300- to 400-nm) radiation.
Journal J Bacteriol
Abstract Logarithmically growing and stationary-phase cells of Escherichia coli mutants lacking exonuclease III (xthA) were sensitive to inactivation by broad-spectrum near-UV (300- to 400-nm) radiation. The same xthA mutants were no more sensitive to far-UV wavelengths (200- to 300-nm) than was a strain bearing a functional xthA allele.
