Title A mutation of ispA that is involved in isoprenoid biogenesis can improve growth of Escherichia coli at low temperatures.
Journal Microbiol Immunol
Abstract Cells lacking rodZ are defective not only in cell shape, but also in cell growth at low temperatures. Cold-sensitive growth was suppressed by a mutation of ispA without recovery from the round shape, and the mutation improved cell growth of the wild-type at low temperatures.
